Frequently asked questions about our student loans
What documentation is needed to apply for a loan?
To provide members with an efficient service where full loan assessment can be completed (for the most part within 48 hours), the following documentation may be required (depending on the amount of the loan required);
PAYE Worker- recent pay slips, up to date bank statements and loan purpose backup e.g. course acceptance.
Self Employed Person – most recent audited accounts, P21 Balancing Statement, Tax Clearance Certificate, loan purpose backup e.g. course acceptance.
I’m a full time student, can I apply for a student loan?
We will need to ascertain repayment capacity to ensure you can repay the loan and to improve your financial situation rather than add further pressure. For full time students we can assess an application on a parent’s account and agree a repayment structure that works for all parties.
I’m a parent with kids going to college, can I apply for a student loan?
Yes, most student loans for full time education are assessed based on the parent’s income so you can apply for a loan to cover the costs of your kids education.
Warning: If you do not meet the repayments on your loan, your account will go into arrears. This may affect your credit rating, which may limit your ability to access credit in the future.
