Does an organisation need an account in order to apply for a community loan?
Yes, your club or organisation will need to have an account with St. Canice’s Credit Union to apply for a loan but we can facilitate this for you. To find out more about opening an account just contact any branch or give us a call.
Is there a minimum loan amount required to apply?
No, there is no minimum amount your organisation can apply for. The maximum amount we can lend to a community group or organisation is €200,000
Who can apply for a loan on behalf of a community group?
A loan application will be taken in the name of the group itself and not the individuals involved. Who can operate the account and submit a loan application will depend on how you set up the account. At account opening we will require a letter on headed paper from the organising committee of the group stating what persons are delegated to operate the account.
Representative example:
A community loan of €50,000 over 10 years would have 120 monthly repayments of €527.89 per month. Total cost of credit €13,346.66. Total amount repayable; €63,346.66
