St. Canice’s Credit Union has 9 branches across the 3 counties of Kilkenny, Carlow and Laois.
Who Can Open An Account?
Any individual living within our Common Bond Any local group, club or business; provided that the majority of members or directors live or work in our Common Bond and the group, club or business address is also located within the Common Bond.
NOTE: If you are not eligible to open an account in your own right but are an immediate family member of an existing account holder, then you may also be able to join. Ask in branch for more details.
What Documents you need
- Photo ID (original only): e.g. Current Passport, Driving Licence, or National Identity Card
- Proof of Address (dated within the last 6 months): e.g. utility bill, official document issued by revenue or government department, bank or building society statement or Local Authority document.
- PPS Number (on an official document): e.g. Medical Card, payslip, official document issued by revenue or European Health Insurance Card.
- If you are working but not living in the St. Canice’s Credit Union Common Bond and would like to open an account, you will also need a letter from your employer confirming your place of employment.
- Lodge €5 or more to activate the account.
- Official ID: Passport or Birth Certificate for the child.
- Proof of Address (dated within the last 6 months): Proof of parent’s address e.g. utility bill, official document issued by revenue or government department, bank or building society statement or Local Authority document.
- Child’s PPS Number (on an official document): e.g. Medical Card, revenue letter or European Health Insurance Card.
- Lodge €5 or more to activate the account.
Please contact your local branch to find out exactly what you need to provide when opening a business or group account.
When a child is under the age of 7, a parent/guardian or grandparent can open an account on their behalf. The child need not be present when the account is being opened.
Once a child reaches the age of seven, they must open their own St. Canice’s Credit Union account i.e. an account cannot be opened on their behalf.
Online Banking
CU Online+ is a free and easy way to access your accounts when you are on the go, or from the comfort of your own home.
During your online membership application process, you will be asked to tick a box for Digital Services and prompted to create a password.
Then you can check your latest transactions and balances, view or print a statement, pay a bill online, transfer money between St. Canice’s Credit Union accounts, into your bank account or into the bank account of another.
