St. Canice’s Credit Union is delighted to announce a €150,000 Community Connect Fund, dedicated to supporting eligible community groups and organisations across our common bond area. This funding is open to groups based in the communities surrounding our branches in High St. Kilkenny, Bagenalstown, Callan, Piltown, Graiguenamanagh, Ballyragget, Durrow, Mountrath, and Rathdowney.

We invite you to explore our list of previous recipients, you may spot organisations with a similar mission or goal to your own. It’s a great way to see the range of groups that have successfully received funding, and it might spark ideas on how your organisation could benefit too.

Community Connect aims to support significant projects that will add long-term benefits to the community.

The project should be sustainable and have longevity, meeting a recognised community development, social, cultural or charitable need for the community at large. Each application should appeal to a broad range of our members and should reflect the ethos and values of St. Canice’s Credit Union and the Credit Union movement.

The outcome of the proposed project will be visible and sustainable over a significant period. We are especially interested in projects that show collaboration or which offer services to multiple groups and have cross-community appeal. Please Note: Funding cannot be used for day‑to‑day running costs, overheads, salaries, staff employment or travel costs.

Please Note:

Keep your answers as brief as possible while capturing the crucial details of your project

  • Funding can only be awarded to groups/clubs/entities and not to individuals
  • Projects must be located within our common bond
  • Groups who have previously been awarded funds from Community Connect can apply for funds but only where there is a new and separate project being undertaken and outlined in the application.
  • If your group wishes to apply for more than one initiative, simply submit a separate application for each.
