However the climate crisis is on everyone’s mind and we are invested in helping contribute to a sustainable future where we can. That’s why we are thrilled to announce: Upcycle with St. Canice’s Credit Union. This creative competition is your chance to win impressive prizes for both you and your school.
What’s the Challenge?
In a world full of mass consumption, we want to encourage students to look at waste differently. The goal of Upcycle with St. Canice’s is to reduce consumption by turning broken or redundant items into something beautiful and functional. Whether it’s an old chair transformed into a planter, or a collection of scrap wood made into a storage bench, the possibilities are endless.

Not only is this a chance to showcase your creativity and ingenuity, but there are also fantastic prizes up for grabs! The winning school will receive €1000. Additionally, each member of the winning team will receive wireless headphones worth €200 each—a great way to reward your hard work and innovative thinking!

How to Enter
Participants must register their project by submitting a brief proposal outlining their intended upcycling project. The form is available
HERE.
This proposal should include:
- A description of the items they plan to use.
- The purpose or functionality of the final upcycled item.
- Explanation of how the upcycle contributes to sustainability.
Video Submission
Participants must document their upcycling process in a video (90 seconds max, filmed in portrait). The video should include:
- An introduction by the participant(s).
- The condition of the item(s) before the upcycling project.
- The steps taken during the transformation process.
- The final result and new purpose of the upcycled item(s).
