Mountrath & District Credit Union officially opened for business as St. Canice’s Credit Union on Tuesday 31st May 2016 and as a result, members from Mountrath now have access to the enhanced range of lending and financial services that St. Canice’s has to offer including, online facilities, electronic payments and extended opening hours.  Also, with accounts now being BIC and IBAN enabled, it means that members from Mountrath can begin to receive payments such as salaries, pensions and social welfare payments directly into their Credit Union account.

Speaking about the merger, Michael O’Reilly Chairman of the Board of Directors of St. Canice’s noted that “This is another great event in the history of our Credit Union and we are delighted to welcome members from Mountrath”.  He added “These are exciting times and we look forward to serving all our members, both old and new, as a stronger combined entity in the months and years to come”.
