#SQUAD Account for 12-17 year olds

Available to members between the ages of 12 & 17 who live in our Common Bond or whose parents are already members of St. Canice’s Credit Union.

What’s a Common Bond?

It’s actually the geographic area in which a Credit Union can do business. Basically, to join St. Canice’s Credit Union account you must live in our catchment area.

Once you turn 16, you can download the cuAnywhere App & do it all online.

All #SQUAD Account holders who join before the end of the year of their 17th Birthday, will go into a draw to win €1,800, which will be presented to one lucky winner on their 18th Birthday.

When you start thinking about your next steps after school, there is a Scholarship Draw for 3rd level education funding, which you can enter. There is also a Special Student Loan at a very low rate to help you go further.

Opening a #SQUAD account is easy, just drop into your nearest branch of St. Canice’s Credit Union and
we’ll complete a new account form with you.
What you’ll need to bring with you are a Photo ID, Proof of Address and  your PPSN.
You’ll also need €5 to get your account started. Membership is subject to approval. Terms & Conditions apply.

Proof of Identity: To prove who you are, bring along your current Passport or a Drivers Licence. However, if you are under 15 years old and don’t have a Passport, we will accept your Birth Certificate.

To prove where you live, bring a letter on headed paper from your school confirming you’re a student of that school and confirming your home address. The letter should be dated within the last 6 months and be signed by the school principal, vice principal, teacher or secretary in the school. For new #SQUAD account holders who are under 15 years, we
will accept proof of your parent or guardian’s address, again dated within the last 6 months e.g. utility bill, bank statement or official documentation issued by the Revenue Commissioners or other Government Department or Local Authority.

We’ll need a proof of this number on an official document e.g., European Health Insurance Card or a letter from the Revenue Commissioners or Social Welfare.
