Every year we must send all members over the age of 16 years an AGM notification and pack. Along with this there are other statutory information packs, such as notice of a transfer of engagements, that we are obliged, by law, to send to every member.
Every year hundreds of members ask us “why are you sending all this paper out to me in the post?” So this year we will be sending them via a link to view on your screen. However you must choose this electronic option in advance.
In October and November 2018, we are starting the process of communicating with our members by email and text message to give them the option to sign up to receive this type of statutory communication via a web-link rather than printing & posting the packs by ordinary mail.
Changing your preference to e-communications will achieve 2 major goals for us as a Credit Union.
1. Save Money: we estimate that sending you this information by electronic means will save tens of thousands of euro in print & postage costs.
2. Save the environment: we estimate that sending you this information by electronic means will save ten trees; every year.
We are required by legislation to send this information but feedback from members suggests that they would prefer it in electronic form rather than having to dispose of paper in the green bin, so why not choose to receive this statutory information electronically?
