Margo Moran

Margo Moran

All at St. Canice’s Credit Union were deeply saddened to hear on, Tuesday, 13th April, of the death of Margo Moran. Margo was a member of the Board of Dunnamaggin Credit Union and when it merged with St. Canice’s in 2011, Margo joined the Board of St. Canice’s Credit Union, where she served in many roles, including that of Secretary to the Board.

Margo’s willingness to offer her time, her expertise and, above all, her great good nature to the Board, to new volunteers and to members, marked her out as a unique individual. She had a great capacity always to see things from the member’s perspective. The Credit Union was among many community and voluntary organisations to which Margo dedicated herself.

We all know something else about Margo.  She didn’t just look around and see things that need attention. She took action.

We all see the same things that Margo saw. There are jobs that need to be done, problems that need to be solved and as we look at those and think about our busy lives, we most likely say to ourselves, “Somebody needs to take care of that”.  We mean well but we just don’t get around to doing anything. We say “Somebody needs to do something.”  Well, that somebody was Margo Moran; she saw possibilities where the rest of us saw need.

To her husband, Pete, daughters Colette and Michelle, her darling grand-daughter Natasha, sons-in-law Jeremy and Donal, sisters Breda, Teresa and Una, brothers Michael and John, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, extended family, neighbours and her large circle of wonderful friends, we extend our deepest sympathy.

With thanks for his kind words to Ian Coulter on behalf of the Board, Volunteers & Staff of St. Canice’s Credit Union
