Finance, Credit Control Supervisor (Maternity Cover)
Reporting to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Position Summary
Credit Control: The supervisor will provide operational leadership to the credit control team and implement effective credit control decisions and plans under the guidance and direction of the CFO. The supervisor will be responsible for ensuring all credit control policies and procedures are implemented, arrears are managed and recovered in a manner appropriate for each member and the credit union. The supervisor will also complete credit control officer duties as required.

Finance: The supervisor will provide operational leadership to the finance officers servicing SEPA payment transactions. The supervisor will be responsible for ensuring all tasks are managed and completed and may at times have to cover these officer positions. All will be completed under the guidance and direction of the CFO.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
The supervisor will lead key operational aspects of the credit control and finance activities within the credit union and their duties and responsibilities will include:
• Provide direction, instruction, motivation, guidance and training to the credit control and finance teams, ensuring all duties are completed and reported on in line with policies and procedures.
• Develop and maintain effective communications for the credit control and finance officers with members, staff and external suppliers.
• Be the first point of contact for any issues that arise from finance officer duties.
• Be in a position to complete Finance Officer and Credit Control Officer daily duties on an ad hoc basis.
• Monitor and measure quantitative and qualitative credit control and finance team member performance completing performance appraisals.
• Assist the CFO in the roll out of the strategic plan for credit control and finance and work closely with the CFO to develop and improve the strategic direction of the functions.
• Assisting in the implementation and monitoring of the systems and controls required in the credit control and finance function as outlined by the Risk, Compliance and Internal Audit Function .
• Proactively participate in continuous training and development in order to provide the highest levels of service in the role.
• Promote a culture that reflects the Credit Union’s values and encourages good performance and excellent service.
• To undertake any ad hoc duties reasonable to the role requested by the CFO.

The successful candidate should have the following:
• Must have APA Lending qualification or equivalent qualification.
• Experience working in a Credit Union or financial institution .
• Knowledge of Scion operating system or equivalent desirable.
• Ability to work on own initiative and to a high standard.
• Good organisational skills, flexibility and ability to adapt.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong working knowledge of Credit Control and Finance.
