Unleash the Potential with Your Team, Your School and Your Community at the Credit Union Schools Quiz 2024
We are delighted to host the preliminary round of the 2024 Credit Union Schools Quiz .
CHANGE TO USUAL FORMAT: This year the quiz will be held over two evenings at the end of January 2024.
As usual, the competition will have two age group categories and we would like to invite primary schools from across our common bond to enter two teams of four children (one team in each category).
Competition A
Under 11 – for children aged 10 or younger on 31st December 2023.
Competition A will be held in the Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel on Friday evening 26th January 2024 at 7pm
Competition B
Under 13 – for children aged 12 or younger on 31st December, 2023.
Competition B will be held in the Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel on Monday evening 29th January 2024 at 7pm
(Note: The eldest member of a team determines which competition the team will compete in.)
It’s expected that almost 80 teams of four, representing more than 40 local schools, will take part. Questions will cover a wide range of topics including geography, history, music and sport and both the winners and runners up will be presented with uniquely designed St. Canice’s Credit Union gold and silver medals. Of course, following tradition, no child will go home empty handed as every participant will get a credit union bag filled with goodies.
The winning teams will progress to the regional knock out stage in March. In this nerve-wracking clash of wits, they will go head to head with other formidable teams, creating an exciting competition. The goal is to reach the National Final in the RDS, Dublin in April, 2024.
Children taking part in the quiz are requested to arrive at least 15 minutes early. This will give them time to find their seat, settle in and get ready for a fun filled night.
Primary schools will receive full details and entry forms in the post during the week beginning 8th January 2024 and the closing date for receipt of entries is Friday 19th January 2024
