Community Connect awards funding to Bagenalstown First Responders

Bagenalstown First Responders

We were delighted to be able to award Bagenalstown First Responders €4000 for their project. Bagenalstown First Responders are a community first responder team in operation for a number of years. They provide excellent first responder service to the local community in support of the National Ambulance Service. They also provide community training and a public access defibrillator programme. New members are always welcome so please get in touch if interested.

Their aim is to purchase and install at least 5 more public assess defibrillators in the community. The group is affiliated with the National Ambulance Service, and they respond to 999 calls within an 8k radius in event of Cardiac Arrest, Heart Attack, Stroke, and chocking until the ambulance arrives which could take up to an hour and possibly longer. They also need to keep their lifesaving equipment updated yearly and all money they raise is used to purchase more training manakins defibs etc. for their volunteers.
