Coin Machine

We have a coin counting machine in our Bagenalstown branch, our High Street Kilkenny branch machine is out of action at the moment. It can take euro coins in any amount and the values do not need to be counted or bagged. There is a 3% commission charge for members, 10% for non-members and it’s free if you have collected coins for a registered charity and can prove this.

SEPA (Single European Payments Account)

You can make payments to accounts with IBAN & BIC numbers in any of the 32 SEPA participating countries – the 27 EU member states, together with Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland and Monaco.

What is a SEPA payment?

SEPA stands for Single Euro Payments Area. A SEPA payment is sent through the SEPA Scheme. The SEPA payment scheme was created to simplify euro transfers between EU member states. The SEPA scheme consists of the 27 EU Member States plus Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Monaco, the United Kingdom and San Marino.

To make a SEPA payment you need:

  1.  The IBAN of the person you want to pay
  2.   The bank to which you are sending the payment to be a member of the SEPA scheme
  3.   The payment to be in euro

Please note: St. Canice’s Kilkenny Credit Union Ltd. is unable to accept SWIFT payments. You may incur charges if you attempt to send money to your account in St. Canice’s Kilkenny Credit Union Ltd. via SWIFT.

Electronic Payments from your CU account

You can make external payments from any account once the payment is not from an account with pledged shares against a loan you may have. You can set this up online yourself from your CU online account or come in and we can process these at the counter for you. Most popular outgoing payments are to pay utility bills, credit cards, store cards, for gifts or holiday payments. You can set up a one off or a more regular payment for the same amount for each repayment, all you need is the destination BIC & the IBAN number of the receiving account.

St. Canice’s Kilkenny Credit Union Ltd. is registered for SEPA payments only.

If as a member you wish to transfer funds into your account, then the payment should be made as a SEPA payment only. If you are aware that a third party is making a payment into your account, it is advisable that they tell their financial institution that the payment should be made via SEPA. If a payment is sent in any other way, for example by SWIFT, the payment will be rejected by our processing Bank and the Payer may incur a rejection charge that he/she may be liable for.

Chamber Vouchers

Kilkenny Chamber Shopping Vouchers are available to purchase from the High Street office of St. Canice’s Kilkenny Credit Union. The vouchers are sold in denominations of €10, €20 and €50 and can be redeemed at participating outlets in the city. They are an ideal present for friends and family alike.

EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer)

A full range of EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) services are available to all members. This means that each credit union account has now its own sort code, unique eight digit account number, BIC and IBAN.

As a result members can have social welfare, child benefit, pensions and other payments sent directly to their credit union account. The credit union can also transfer money to other financial institutions and utility companies on a member’s behalf, thereby reducing cash transactions and increasing security for members.
