More than 8,500 loans approved in the past year. Over €61 million lent to members. A loan book that has now surpassed €150 million.
We are proud to announce that St. Canice’s Credit Union has surpassed €150 million in lending for the first time in our history.
Our loan book now stands at €151.1 million, representing growth of 5.5% over the past year and reflecting the trust our members continue to place in us. Over the past 12 months alone, we have approved 8,537 loans, providing more than €61.4 million in lending to members across our communities.
While these figures mark an important milestone, what matters most is what they represent.
Every day, we support members at different stages of life, helping them achieve goals, manage opportunities and navigate important financial decisions. Whether it’s investing in a home, funding education, making home improvements or embracing greener living, our focus is always on providing accessible, responsible lending backed by local decision-making and personal service.
Today, St. Canice’s Credit Union has almost 17,000 active loans, highlighting both the scale of our lending activity and the confidence members have in choosing their credit union as a trusted financial partner.
Commenting on the milestone, Ger Holland, Head of Lending, said:
“Passing €150 million in lending is a fantastic milestone, but what matters most is what that lending has enabled for our members. Every day we work with people who are planning for the future, investing in their homes or making important life decisions, and we’re proud to support them on that journey.”
As member needs continue to evolve, so too does our lending offering. Recent initiatives such as Greenify and Green Mortgages, together with enhanced lending limits, are helping us provide members with more choice and flexibility than ever before.
Carmel Butler, CEO, said:
“This milestone reflects the growing confidence members have in St. Canice’s Credit Union and the evolving role credit unions play in communities today. As member needs change, our focus remains on providing competitive products, excellent service and local decision-making that puts members first.”
Reaching €150 million in lending is a significant achievement for our credit union, but the real success lies in the thousands of members whose goals and ambitions have been supported along the way. We look forward to continuing that journey together for many years to come.
